Day 1   Pick up from your hotel and transfer to Chiang Mai Airport. From Chiang Mai, it is a one hour flight to Luang Prabang. On arriving in Luang Prabang, you are transferred to your hotel.
Spend the afternoon strolling round Luang Prabang with your guide visiting some of the many impressive temples. Later in the afternoon climb up to Wat Phousi to get a panoramic view of the town.

Day 2  Visit the Luang Prabang Museum which used to be the Royal Palace.
Later in the morning take a cruise down the Mekong River to Pak Ou Caves which house thousands of Buddha images. Lunch is taken near the caves. On the way back, visit a village which is famous for distilling local whiskey. They also weave traditional material here.

Day 3  Drive to Kuang Si Waterfalls, about 20kms from Luang Prabang. These falls, cascade down limestone cliffs giving them a ethereal white appearance. Lunch is taken near the waterfall. On the way back, stop at a Hmong village and a village of weavers. There is time to relax at the hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 4  Depart from the hotel after breakfast for Luang Prabang Airport. Take a short flight back to Chiang Mai. Transfer to your hotel or connect to another flight (eg. Bangkok, Phuket etc.)

Day 1   Pick up from your hotel and transfer to Chiang Mai Airport. From Chiang Mai, it is a one hour flight to Luang Prabang. On arriving in Luang Prabang, you are transferred to your hotel. Free afternoon in Luang Prabang. Late afternoon, climb up to Wat Phousi for a panoramic view of the town and river.

Day 2  Cruise down the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves, which house thousands of Buddha images. Lunch is taken near the caves. On the way back, visit a village famous for distilling the local whiskey, as well as some local weavers.

Day 3  Visit the Luang Prabang Museum (former Royal Palace) and some of the impressive temples in the town area.

Day 4  A one day trek to visit the Akha and Hmong tribes. Walk approx. 2 hrs to see the hilltribe villages and also some traditional Lao villages. Afterwards visit the Kuang Si Waterfall; an impressive sight as the water cascades down the limestone cliffs.

Day 5  Depart from the hotel, after breakfast, for Luang Prabang Airport. Take a short flight back to Chiang Mai. Transfer to your hotel or connect to another flight (eg. Bangkok, Phuket etc.)
