Mae Ta Man Elephant Camp

Take a one day trip to the Mae Ta Man elephant camp. During the day, you will see a show where the elephants demonstrate their skills. You will also go for a ride on an elephant (approx. 1hr) and take a ride in an ox cart (approx. 1/2hr). Then in the afternoon you will be able to do some bamboo rafting (approx. 1hr). We recommend this trip as an ideal day out for a family.

Chomthong and the South

8.30am - 3pm

Visit one of the most interesting areas to the south of Chiang Mai. First we go to Wieng Khum Kham (the ancient original city of before Chiang Mai), then we continue south to the ancient city of Wieng Ta Kan located further south near the Ping River.We then continue on to Wat Phrathat Chomthong (approx. 60kms), one of the most important temples in the area. This temple shows a considerable Burmese influence, it is situated along one of the old trading routes running between Burma and Chiang Mai. Afterwards we drive on a little further to visit one of the famous waterfalls inside the Doi Inthanon National Park. This tour covers all the landmarks of the ancient cultural development of the area as well as Vachiratarn waterfall at the end of the day.

Wat Phrathat Chomthong


Chomthong and Hilltribe Village

Visit one of the most interesting areas to the south of Chiang Mai; including a visit to a hilltribe village. First we go to Wat Phrathat Chomthong (approx. 60kms), one of the most important temples in this area. This temple shows a considerable Burmese influence, it is situated along one of the old trading routes running between Burma and Chiang Mai. Afterwards we continue on to a Karen hilltribe village. We stop to explore the village and meet some of its inhabitants. Your guide will explain about the Karen, their customs and their daily life.

Chiang Dao Elephant Camp and Rafting

Extend the trip to the Chiang Dao Elephant Camp with some rafting. First visit the camp and watch the elephants going through their early morning routines as well as demonstrating some of their skills. Mae On Cave, Hot Springs and Handicraft Villages

First visit the cave at Mae On, situated east of Chiang Mai. This cave is an ancient meditation retreat for monks situated on a hillside overlooking the valley. Then continue on to the Sankamphaeng hotsprings where you can see the hot water geysers.
In the afternoon, visit the many handicraft villages of the area, including - celadon, saa paper, silver, lacquerware and many others.

Chiang Dao Elephant Camp, Rafting and Padong "long neck" tribe village

Visit the  Chiang Dao Elephant Camp, including elephant riding to a hilltribe village and  some rafting. First visit the camp and watch the elephants going through their early morning routines as well as demonstrating some of their skills. Then take an elephant ride for approx. 1˝hrs to a Lisu hilltribe village. After lunch take a ride down the river on a bamboo raft (approx. 1hr). Doi Inthanon National Park

See the tallest mountain of Thailand and the surrounding National Park. Among the sights of interest are the summit of the mountain with its chedis and stupa, and  waterfalls which we will visit. Mae Sai and the Golden Triangle

Drive up to the very north of Thailand, via Chiang Rai. You will see the ancient temples of Chiang Saen on the banks of the Mekhong River. Then you will visit the bustling border town of Mae Sai (border of Myanmar and Thailand). During the day you will also visit some hot springs, some hilltribe villages and take a scenic drive through the hills of upper Northern Thailand.
The Golden Triangle is actually the point where you can see all the three countries of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. You will stop there during the day.

Doi Suthep Temple and Thai Handicrafts

One Day Tour to Padong ("long neck") Tribe Village & Chiang Dao Caves

7am - 6pm

Start early in the morning , pick up from your hotel and drive northwards from Chiang Mai. This trip visits the famous "Long Neck" Padong tribe situated between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. The route to the Padong village takes about 3hrs but along the way we stop at an Orchid farm and Chiang Dao Caves. Once at the Padong village we explore the village and the nearby Akha & Lahu tribes. We also pass through the towns of Thaton and Chiang Dao. As it's a private trip it's possible to make stops along the way for photos and shopping for local products.

One Day Tour to Lampang

The journey from Chiang Mai to Lampang takes about 1˝ hrs. On the way stop at the government owned Elephant training school. Here you will be able to see the elephants going through their paces and take an elephant ride (approx 1 hr). Continue driving to Lampang and visit the temples called Wat Phrathat Lampang Luang and Wat Phra Kaew Don Tao. Afterwards visit a house that is built of teak and is supported by an incredible  116 teak posts.
Before returning to Chiang Mai we take a tour of one of the ceramic factories, (Lampang is famous for its ceramic industry).

One Day Mahout Training Course at Lampang Elephant Conservation Centre

Pick up from your hotel in Chiang Mai at 0700 and drive to the Lampang elephant conservation centre in Lampang. Arrive at the centre, register and meet the staff. In the morning you will see elephants bathing and demonstrating their skills. Then you will learn more about elephants including how to make elephant dung paper and visiting the elephant hospital. In the afternoon you will learn the skills involved in being a mahout and how to ride the elephant. The day finishes with the elephant ride back to the forest and receipt of course certificate.
