Day 1    Arrive in Chiang Mai. Transfer from the Airport to your hotel. In the evening attend a traditional Khantoke dinner - traditional Northern Thai food and Thai dancing. (D) Accommodation according to grade chosen.

Day 2    Start of our two day trek. Drive north of Chiang Mai and visit the elephant camp, where you will be able to see the elephants close up and take a ride through the jungle scenery (approx. 1hr). Afterwards, sample some bamboo rafting down the Ping River (approx 1hr). After lunch drive a bit further to the trekking area and start the 3hr walk to the Karen village, where we spend the night. Walk through the farmland and foothills of the areas inhabited by the hilltribes.  (B,L,D) Accommodation in hilltribe house.

Day 3    Walk mostly uphill for 2½ hrs. to an Akha village where we stop for lunch. Learn about the fascinating Akha tribe. Then in the afternoon walk mostly downhill for 2hrs to the  Lisu village at the end of the trek. The walk during the day takes you through forested scenic walks, open areas with views of the surrounding hills as well as the fields of the hilltribes. Tour the Lisu village, then drive 2hrs back to Chiang Mai. (B,L) Accommodation according to grade chosen.

Day 4    Depart from Chiang Mai, for your next destination. We transfer you from your hotel to Chiang Mai Airport. (B)

Day 2    Start of our three day trek. Drive out of Chiang Mai (approx 2 hrs.) , first stopping at the elephant camp for a 1hr elephant ride and some rafting. Drive on to a small rural town and stop for lunch. Walk in the afternoon for 3½ hrs. to a Lahu & Karen village. This takes you through farming areas and then the hills that lead to the areas inhabited by the hilltribes. We spend the night here, in a Karen house. (B,L,D) Accommodation in a hilltribe house.

Day 3    A total walking distance of 4½ hrs.; we stop at a Shan village along the way for lunch. The area we walk through is at a higher altitude than the first day and passes through forested routes and hilltribe farming areas. Continue on in the afternoon, until we reach an Akha village, where we spend the night. Learn about the fascinating Akha tribe and spend the night with the Akha host family. (B,L,D) Accommodation in a hilltribe house.

Day 4    Walk for 3 hrs. to a Lisu village. Most of the walk is downhill and at the end of the trail are the farming areas of the Lisu and a large Lisu village. Stop for lunch, then drive back to Chiang Mai in the afternoon (approx. 2 hrs.) (B,L) Accommodation according to grade chosen.

Day 5    Depart from Chiang Mai, for your next destination. We transfer you from your hotel to Chiang Mai Airport. (B)

Day 2    Start of our two day trek. Drive north of Chiang Mai towards Chiang Dao. First visit the Chiang Dao Caves and have lunch. After exploring the caves drive half an hour further to an Akha village and start our trek. Walk for 3 hrs in the afternoon until we reach a Palong village. We spend the night in the Palong village. (B,L,D) Accommodation in a hilltribe house.

Day 3    Ride the elephants out of the Palong village for approx. 1hr. Meet our transport and drive to the start of the rafting trip. After lunch board the rafts for a 1hr trip down the Ping River. Drive back to Chiang Mai. (B,L)  Accommodation according to grade chosen.

Day 4    Depart from Chiang Mai, for your next destination. We transfer you from your hotel to Chiang Mai Airport. (B)

See the Palong tribe who only recently came to settle in Thailand from Burma. (B,L,D) Accommodation in a hilltribe house.

Day 4    Walk for approx. 2½hrs. to the Ping River and stop for lunch. Then board the bamboo rafts and cruise down the river for approx. 1½-2hrs. Then drive back to Chiang Mai (approx. 2hrs).  (B,L) Accommodation according to grade chosen.
