STATE RAILWAY AUTHORITY OF THAILAND - Cost of journey = (depends on type of seat) between approx. 450-800 Baht, for 2nd class. Seats and sleepers available, fan or A/C. There is also first class available, with 2 passengers to a sleeper cabin.
Duration of journey = approx. 12-15hrs. depending on type of train.
If you want to get off along the way (Ayutthaya, Phitsanuloke, Lampang etc.) then check to make sure the train you're booking stops there. Make sure that you book the tickets accordingly, for the right days and with the right stops.
