Vieng Kum Kham & Ban Tawai - Half Day Tour (CMHD7)
This tour starts at 8.30am or
1pm. (You can take the tour in the morning or afternoon.) You are picked up from your
hotel by your guide.
First drive to the southern outskirts of Chiang Mai and visit Vieng Kum Kham. This ancient
site is the remains of the city built by King Mengrai before he founded
Chiang Mai in its present location. Many important archaeological
discoveries have been made at this site. Explore around the city ruins and
old temples, and learn about early Lanna history.
Afterward drive further south to Ban Tawai (approx. ½ hr.) This village and the
surrounding area produces some of the best wooden carvings, furniture and antique
reproductions in Northern Thailand.
Drive back to Chiang Mai.
This tour ends when you are taken back to your hotel at approx 12.30 or 5pm.
Note: This is a private tour and entrance fees are
included. Lunch is not included.
